Adamas Motor Group set out to ensure this event made an impression. The event a Grand Regional Premiere was to showcase the Morgan Plus Four. Morgan already a British icon and at the pinnacle of British craftmanship was placed in the shadows of a much larger and historical icon, the QE2.
With such regal and prominent guests of course elegance was to be part of the show. Therefore, a smartly dressed Supercarbaldie was in order. Once a former serviceman I saw fit to wear my three piece and pocket watch. Only thing missing was my miniatures (that’s the small medal band we place on our mess dress) Being invited to attend such an event was emotional as much as it was an honour. A truly British evening.
Walking the gang plank and into this icon was for me a small adventure. A ship that I have never had the chance to sail in. Registered with the ladies at the desk and shown the way to the 5th deck, greeted with smiles, a little jazz music and a very welcome orange juice. After a short while waiting for all the guests to arrive, we were all escorted into the small ballroom area to take our seats.  Â
All placed their fine and in some cases quite nostalgic memories of the Morgan Motor Company and the QE2. Chief Designer shared the history and vision of a car maker that still to date produce cars in the original manufacturing plant in Malvern UK. And still to this day maintains its meticulous attention to original manufacturing methods and craftsmanship.
There-after an auction of some fine retro art pieces by artist and studio owner Jim Wheat. Proceeds going to improving the lives of others through the UAE’s Red Cross. Thus far then a delightful evening and yet to get to the actual reveal.
The reveal, this was quite a moment. We were all invited to climb the central stairs of the QE2 and make our way to the upper open deck. Dressed with captains’ hats and lining the guard rail we decorated the scene ready, as if the ship was about to set sail. The Morgan Plus Four hidden beneath a small designer garage, made its way into the dock area to some iconic British rock music. I must share, this was quite honestly the best car reveal I have attended. The attention to detail and ensuring that your emotional side was activated, was a true testament to the creative minds of Adamas Marketing team. Truly memorable!
